Edilia 1:
Our Project is located in the "gold belt" of the El Progreso Area, near San Jose El Golfo. This area is host to a metamorphosed, Cretaceous up to Tertiary age, ophiolite sequence of volcanics and sediments. These form an east-west trending belt of strongly sheared, folded and foliated greenstones, phyllites, limestones along with minor intrusives, again related to the ongoing collision of the Caribbean and North American tectonic plates. Multiple zones of gold occurrence are present in the larger area. The main zones of interest were examined and one of our projects, Edilia 1, was selected.
